Used Club Car Golf Carts

A golf cart is a four wheeler vehicle, which is used by the golfer. It is smaller than any other ordinary four wheelers. It is actually designed to carry two golf players and their golf clubs. They use it to go around a golf course or on desert because it is easier than walking and easy to drive. These carts are especially for their size and shape. People also use golf carts on road to go at speed less than 15 mph (24 km/hour). The golf carts are usually around four feet (1.2 m) wide and eight feet (2.4 m) long and height around six feet (1.8 m). Its weight is 900 pounds (410 kg) to 1000 pounds (450 kg). They are usually powered by 4-stroke engines. A golf carts prize depends on several factors like deign, size, engines power and their high speed and torque. Normally the prize of a golf cart is between the ranges of $3000 - $15000 per cart. It also depends on whether the car is new or it was used by anyone else before. Now popularity of golf cart is rising. So now golf cart is also being modified. Some of those modifications are like including windshields, cooler trays, ball cleaners, and the last, but not the least their power full motors with a view to increasing speed or torque. There are also lift kits in the cart. At first JK Wadley of Texarkana thought about using a golf cart. He saw the use of three wheelers to carry senior citizen to the market in Los Angeles. He thought that it will work well in golf course. So he purchased a cart for golf course. That was the beginning of golf cart.

The first electric golf cart was produced in 1932. Though it was not perfect it was used since 1952. Now golf carts are powered by engines which are run by fuel. A lot of company produces golf carts. Club Car is one of the most famous of them. The company established in 1958. It is based in Augusta, Georgia. A lot of people who love to play golf have used Club Car golf carts. In previous time people have used Club Car golf carts which body were made of plastic, and fiber glasses. In the year 1982 they released the Club Car DS and its front and rear both panels were constructed with plastic and fiber glasses. But in the year 1993 they changed the design of body. They constructed the front and back part by a material known as Armor Flex. It is such a material, which is stiffer and thicker than any material used by any other manufacturers. And its result is a better and smooth appearance. Though Armor Flex makes the panels break instead of bend, it was better than any other materials.

In 2003 Club Car introduced their Precedent golf car. In this cart Club Car used Du Pont's Surlyn material for constructing the body panel. Its advantage was no necessity of paints. It was specialty of Precedent golf carts. Previously used Club Car golf carts the engine was powered by electricity. But now they are producing golf carts powered by gas. Until 1992 Club Car used a nine horse power engine called Kawasaki FZ340. In 1992 they replaced it by another more power full and effective engine Kawasaki 286 cc FE290 with nine horse power. They displaced the engine by a 287 cc. In 2000 they increased their output to 9.5 horse power (7.1 kW) and the performance of FE290 exceeded the SAE J1940. They also increased their output 351 cc FE350 from 11 horsepower to 11.5 horsepower. In previously (1970) used Club Car golf carts a styled aluminum I-beam was used as frame. It is still used under the DS and many other vehicles. The frame consists of four beam was used in gasoline vehicles made from 1984 to 1997. Two frames from the front of the cart and the other two is placed to the outside of those run from the front door of floorboard to the rear extreme. But now the cart has two beams that span the entire length of the cart. This design is being used from 1998 until now. Since the Caroche four–wheeled was introduced club cart used the same suspension. It is used for its simplicity and easy maintenance.
